The DET has decided for the time not to open up a port to allow access to Google Play. The reason given was that it was deemed to much of a security risk to their network to allow this.
This decision makes it very difficult for our school to proceed with the project so other ways will be needed to be found to access the apps we will need for our devices.
Possible ideas
It was decided to try the Telstra 4G hotspot because of the cost factor.

Possible ideas
- Install a modem wireless router into the school which is independent of the DET network. This would would be costly as it would require a new phone line and an ISP account.
- Buy a 4G Hotspot which devices can connect to. One can purchased from Telstra which would allow up to 5 devices at a time to connect. The cost is $160 which includes 5GB data.
